Moon Rabbit Part Six - Finished!
Final details are more difficult than anticipated, but the Moon Rabbit was far too stark and lonely on its own. Fluffy clouds and sparkling stars turn this subject into a fairytale scene.
Moon Rabbit Part Two
My vision for the Moon Rabbit was very dimensional, and in order to give it height and shape, it would need layers and layers of padding. The first goldwork details (and a background worked in or nué) provide the first real glimpses of the Rabbit as it takes form.
Moon Rabbit - Part One
There’s an idea that I’ve been kicking around in my head for a long time –about twenty years, actually - and when the San Francisco School of Needlework put out the call for their ‘Out of This World’ exhibition, I knew it would be perfect, although I had no idea how it would change and grow before it was finished.
The Talisman Project Completed - "Journey"
This talisman is a representation of a journey both physical and metaphysical. The path wavers between two extremes, and true wisdom lies not in one over the other, but understanding and using both in their turn. The conscious thought involved in actions binds the disparate elements into a cohesive whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Surprise from San Francisco!
When we submitted these temari to the San Francisco School of Needlework Design, we thought they would just be another couple items in the exhibit. They've been featured by the School on Facebook!
